Little Athletics club
The Geelong Little Athletics Centre (GLAC) hosts several exciting championship and special events for athletes in the Under 8 to Under 17 age groups throughout the summer season.
Season Opening and March Past
The season begins with the March Past, a Club-based event where all members are invited to parade in their Club colours before local dignitaries and GLAC Life Members.

Twilight Athletics
* GLAC hosts Twilight Night meets during the Track & Field season, running from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Relaython Day
This annual fundraising event gives athletes the opportunity to:
* Make donations.
* Participate in keeping the baton moving around Landy Field throughout the morning.
* All proceeds go to the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Steigen Track and Field Championships
A full-day championship event held at John Landy Field, starting at 8:15 AM.
Athletes may compete in a maximum of five events:
* Three track and two field, or two track and three field.
* Events offered are the same as those in the regular season.
* Medals awarded to the top three athletes in timed finals for each event.
Important Notes:
* Athletes must have participated in at least two Centre competition programs prior to the end of February to be eligible.
* Registrations are completed online through the ResultsHQ system, with a strict closing date.
Regional and State-Level Competitions
Athletes can also compete in Regional and State events, including:
* Track & Field Events
* Combined-Event (Pentathlon)
* Team Relays (athletes selected based on early-season sprint results).
Key Details:
* Entry is completed online through an email invitation from LAVic.
* Additional entry fees apply per event and for relay teams.
* Athletes are required to purchase a Geelong Centre singlet online, available at the competition box on Saturday mornings.
Parental Involvement: Parents must fill a duty position if their child is competing at Regional or State events. Duties are light, as LAVic officials manage the events.
Program Cancellations and Changes
Weekly competition programs may be cancelled or adjusted due to weather conditions (wet weather or excessive heat).
* Updates will be posted on the GLAC Team App and Facebook after 7:45 AM on Saturday mornings or before twilight programs.
* The LAVic weather policy guides all decisions.
Athlete and official safety is the top priority.
GLAC Cross-Country
The Cross-Country program runs from April to August and includes local and away venues such as Eastern Gardens. Distances vary by age group, ranging from 1km to 3km.
Athletes can also participate in Region and State Cross-Country competitions offered by LAVic.
